An Easy Side
- We love everything about broccoli! It’s a well-known superfood and a low-carb lover’s dream.
- This is a light and crisp side with lots of flavor.
- Just a few ingredients needed, add other favorite veggies to the broccoli if desired.
How To Stir Fry Broccoli
This is a really quick and easy side dish.
- Prep Broccoli: Peel tough layer from stems & cut into 1” pieces. Cut florets into pieces.
- Cook: Heat oil in skillet, add broccoli and cook a few minutes until tender crisp.
- Add Aromatics & Sauce: Stir in garlic & ginger, cook until fragrant. Add soy sauce mixture & cook.
This is a light side dish recipe and it’s less saucy than a vegetable stir fry. If you’d like a more saucy dish, add in a bit of bottled or homemade stir fry sauce.
Quick Tip
Garlic has a lot of natural sugar and can burn at a high temperature. In this recipe, the broccoli is cooked until tender-crisp and then the garlic is added. This adds lots of flavor without burning the garlic.
Recipe Tips
- Broccoli has the best flavor when it’s bright green and still slightly crisp. Be sure not to overcook it.
- Sesame seeds are best when toasted. To toast the seeds, place them in a dry non-stick pan over medium heat. Stir or shake the seeds until they become browned and fragrant.
- We love chili flakes for a bit of heat. If you’d prefer, you can skip the flakes or add a bit of sriracha or sambal in place.
Leftovers
Keep leftover broccoli stir fry in a container with a tight-fitting lid in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave and serve. Dice up broccoli and add to a soup or stew or tuck into a low-carb wrap for a school or workday energizing lunch!
